If anybody loves them some Nintendo gaming, please post here!
hell yeah i love videogames. all the classics like super mario bros the first series ever and duck hunt and stuff. everything. it was so fun.
Yeah Duck Hunt rocks!
I sure wish those imulators were still around. I can't seem to track one down anywhere. I always liked Mike Tyson's punchout, excite bike, contra, bases loaded, double dribble, just to name a few.
I loved to play Duck Hunt since i had a big screen tv, but the speaker was also big and every time I'd shoot a duck, the damn gun noise would scare the shit out of me. Mario was awesome except for the level where you had to get him on those floating platform elevator things. My family had a blast with that power pad. It was this thing that looked like a big twister board but you put your feet on it and when you ran in place on top of it, the little guy on the screen would run. The best was when we would all jump together to make him jump over the hurdles. Legend of Zelda was cool although I barely remember it. I played some other kiddie games too like some Sesame Street game with Ernie doing magic and Astro-Grover in space or something. Go figure, I was only six, hehe. Kate
The problem I had with that power pad thing was that if I stomped just a little too hard, the damn game would freeze!
Yeah video games are fun, I beat the shit out of my boyfriend once playing hockey and the funny thing is, I don't even like hockey while he is a big fan of Red Wings.
Girls rule!!!
Yeah well, 1 out of 3 games doesn't count. You lost 2 and won 1 game, so I guess that means guys still rule!!! LOL Oh yeah, and the score was 4-3 if I remember right. That haardly sounds like an ass wipping to me, but what do I know?
What are you talking about?
But they still have immulators for nintendo! At least for the super nintendo anyway... I'm just having troubles finding games for it! Any ideas? websites? Anything will be appreciated! Thanks!
Oh how I have fond memorys of my video gaming days, mainly with the mortal kombat searies, I slaughtered pretty much every game of that set. The only characters I hated fighting were the two bosses at the very end, especially in mortal kombat three, because they had Motarro and shoucaun, parden me if that wasn't correct spelling. The last guy after motarro was the worced, because he would trash talk you as he was brutalising you, and with motarro, forget about using special moves like fireballs, because he was able to deflect them all.
I agree with Rocker...
Mortal Kombat kicks ass, Tekken even though its on Playstation, Jin Kazama (SP?) D:D;D;D!, and MK, man Shoukon, or how ever spell that dudes name is hard as hell.
You gotta' use like Raden, or that Sybot dude, to kill him.
Enough of my ramblings,
I used sheva to beat shoucon more than once!
Also another game that was dam easy was the street fighter series, I've slaughtered that one more than once, in fact, I sent my older brother away swaring black and blue lots of times, and he's sighted!
I wonder how those without sight can even manage those video games. I knew one guy who said he knew things by the sounds. I knew a couple people who used the practice things on some games, but not all of those have it. I grew up with the first nintendo and a big screen tv so I played Mario very easily. I didn't get too far in the levels though as far as I can remember. Kate
Someone mentioned emulators. What are you talking about? Emulators are easy as all hell to find! OK, best site for emulators:
http://www.zophar.net
for roms (games)
http://www.emuparadise.org/roms.
As for playing videogames, yeah I do that a lot. And yes, we blindies use sound.
Here's something interesting I've been thinking about. Are there such things as nentendo games that are completely accessible to the blind? If so, please let me know. I'm extremely interested. If not, well, I've a cousin who would like to try and design one. How he's going to do it, I've no clue. Let me know!
Join the club, I really miss my nintendo system.
I think I played the hell out of it and wore it out, because next thing I knew, I was having to put games on top of games to even make one of them work, and that couldn't even garantee it would work then.
I used to love Bubble Bobble, and the mario brothers series though, and I used to borrow my friend's game geenie to play them, but someone had to help me put the codes in.
oh yes: i searched on google for emulators for the normal nintendo entertanment system (nes) and found onebut i foregot what it was called. after that, since i donwloaded some roms, i played teenage mutant ninja turtles 2: the arcade game but i'm stuck: well i foregot what happened and i'm hoping to beat it! hay, any of you guys know a way to make mario more accessible (i mean, how to beet it) every time i play it i just keep jumping and dieing. grrrrrr.
I remember Nintendo. *smiles* Atari was also cool, although I don't remember playing it as much but I know my parents and older sister always did. *smiles* Kate, yeah, I used to play that Sesame Street one, and I liked watching Grover fly around in that space thing and watching the pictures forming when playing that Ernie part of it. *smiles* I also liked playing all 3 Mario games and Excite Bike. I miss Nintendo and Atari. And that would be cool if someone could somehow make those games accessible, because it would be neat to play them again. *smiles*
As for the games like Street Fighter, I always wondered how other blind people play them. *smiles* I knew this person that was pretty good and seemed to know what was going on and everything. *smiles* I like playing Street Fighter also, but I just press anything, and usually I end up winning just for that, although my fingers would get blistered after several games. But it was fun for me anyways. *smiles*
Leilani
what is excite bike?
Excite Bike was a Nintendo game about racing. You were racing against other motor cycles and that track also had stuff like obsticles and banana peels that could mess you up. It also had where you could make your own track and put what ever on it.

Aw stuffers, I managed to beet duck hunt, I just had to listen to the duck quacking and shoot it with my zapper. I had some aiming ishues though, so I'm sometimes not good at Duck hunt.
As far as accessible Nintendo games, I haven't heard of any of that, but at least I can make Liam Urvan of l-works make a blind vursion of Super Mario bros. And yes, Liam! Must! Get! DECtalk 5.5!
I think another site for emulators is http://www.emulationstation.com. Last time I checked that site had emulators for all the popular consoles.
Yeah I love nintendo, but it's hard for me to Play it now, I haven't played it in years, I like Nintendo, supernintendo and I wish I could play play station and play station 2, I have vision out of my right eye and none out of my left, so it's hard for me to play some of the old games that i use to play. I use to have vision out of both of my eyes, but about six years ago my retina detached in my left eye. I wish there was some way that i could play them again as well as play station and play station 2, but not sure if there are any accessable games for the blind or visually impaired for those systems
The best place to find roms is:
www.RomNation.net
and one of the best emulators for the super nentindo is Snes9-X. very accessible for the blind! You can get that at Zophar.net
I am the best at the mortal kimbat series. Yes Mowtorrow could do that because he was half horse, half man, or a sintare. And who could forget about Shalcon If you get hit with that dam sledge hammer, about 3 times, your ass is ded! And about the street fighter series? I dominated it! And Killer instengt? Went through that like nothing! Tekin? Man you think I couldn't beat that? Beet every game for PS and PS2 they have ever came out with! You see, us blind folks use sound like me, I have betten every one that has tryed to face me in any of thoughs games!
aww. I sure miss nintendo. I still have super nintendo and play it quite regularly.
I still play classic mario bros on my nintendo. haha I love NES!
I am a sega man personally. I used to own a Sega Master System years ago, and managed to get through most of the games I had.
Screw emulators. If you have got somewhere to set it up and time to play, buy a 2nd-hand console of your choice from Ebay. Thats what I did at the end of last year. I wanted to get a Mega Drive (Known as Sega Genesis in the states), and managed to get the two rare add-ons for it. I still play it a bit, and still enjoy it.

I love playing videogames. I have alot of favorites I enjoy playing. I've got a list of my favoite games below.
Nintendo: I'd say my favorites were Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, and 3.
Super Nintendo: I'd say my favorite games for that were Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario RPG, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link into the Past.
Nintendo 64: My fav games on there were Super Mario 64, The Mario Party Games, Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and The Orcarina of Time, Super Smash Brothers, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
GameCube: My fav games for that were Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Party 4 (Haven't Played the others yet), Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Sonic Mega Collection, Megaman Aniversory Collection, and Viewtiful Joe.
GameBoy Advance I like The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Mario Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, I did like the pokemon games like Red, Blue, Yello, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, Ruby, FireRed, and LeafGreen. Those are pretty damn hard games their not as much as a kiddy game as others think they are they are quite challenging for one with a disability. I liked The Megaman Battle Network games as well.
Most imporatnatly I can't forget aboot the Final Fantasy 10 games, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy 7 I still think that one had a pretty damn good storyline. Dragonball Z Budakai Series were good Tenkaichi is the best of them all. Dragonball Z Sagas is pretty cool considering the show clips from the show. That's all
For GameCube I fogot to mention I liked playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
The music for Final Fantasy is amazing. My friend Jeff is a real gamer and he loves Final Fantasy. He's also a musician and he has lots of sheet music for and CDs of video game music. I especially like the music from Final Fantasy, not to mention that it is challenging, complex and has a real plot and story line. I used to play Sonic the Hedge Hog and Duck Hunt when I was little. I actually got a few of those damn ducks when I played it and stood a bit closer to the TV screen then did the sighties, and I played Sonic on a small hand held game. I had no idea what I was doing. lol I would just hit buttons and amazingly I won occationally, even getting to a high level. Go figure. Matt and Jeff are video game nuts, so they keep me farely up-to-date on the gaming world. Jeff wants to start a game of Dungins and Dragons and Matt is probably one of the best, if not the best DDR master on campus, Dance Dance Revolution. Video gamers will one day rule the world. rofl
God nentendo will always hold a special place in my heart. lol I still have mine, but most of my games were lost during a move. But I loved punchout, zelda 1 and 2, road blaster, mario 1 and 3. Just to name a few. Oh and the lolo series! I still play that, because I love solving puzzles. grin

On the nes, rad racer is cool. lol, I played tuns and tuns of otehr games , but rad racer is accessible. ON the nses, of course you've got the mortal kombat series[anyone memorized the codes?] lol, and killer instinct, super punch out, and many many others. ON the n64, super smash brows and paper mario, as well as mario rpg for the snes. GC you've got mortal kombat enilation, deception[deathtraps w0tpwnz0rzs!], and smash brows maelay! I want a wii!
WOW!!!
For he N64 I like DK64, Super Smash Brothers, Nascar 2000, Tony, Hawk Pro Skater 2, Mario 64, Pokemon Staidum 1 & 2, Pokemon Snap, Yoshi's story.
Game Cube: Pokemon Collisium, Super Smash Brothers and the Harry Potter games.
Game Boy Advanced, Yu Yu Hakusho Spirit Dective, Yu Yu Hakusho Tournment actits, Pokemon Ruby nd Emerold, Pokemon Fire Red,
Game Boy Color: Pokemon, RBY, GSC, and others.
Gaah I wish I could even ry to play this ame my friend as for the xbox it is impossible.
Final Fantasy 12 for PS2 is an awesome game. I recomend trying it. The only downfall is getting Gil in this game to buy weapons, armor, and items. Overall it's good though.
Battle System is different there are no random battles you see the monsters out in the field. Which is good in my opinion.
if anyone wants an origional nintendo emulator, just send me a pm, or email. Thanks people.
My cousin had one, and I used to play it when I was about six, concittering I'm completely blind, but I still loved mortal kombat, the one also for the super nintendo, I also loved the double dragon series
What is the Double Dragon Series?
It was one of the first beat 'em ups ever released, think Final Fight or Streets of Rage, but in some ways a bit tougher (if you're playing blind) because of the way it was set up. I played an awful lot of that on the old NES myself.

I had a nintendo and an atari before that, and, before i lost my sight. I also had a sega genesis. that system rocked! Sorry but Sonic the hedgehog beats Mario any day. hehe.
I agree about Sonic! plus he's cute and blue
I had all the Sonic Games for the Sega Genisis, I got Sonic Mega Collection for the GC which has all the Sonic Games on it.
I liked Mega Man also I got Megaman Anniversory Collection for GC which has Mega Man 1 - 8 plus 2 secret games.
I want the Mega Man X Collection though, those are a little more challenging.
I'm a fan of any games consoles, Play Stations, whatever I find easy to figure out and whatever's easiest to play accessible games on. I'm thinking about getting a games console, either Nintendo or Play Station 2 or 3, but I'll need some guidance as to which would be more accessible for a totally blind person to use. There was a comercial about a Nintendo WII (or was it SD?) console the other day, and I noticed it was making various different sounds when the people on the commercial were playing the games on there, whereas I've been there while my cousin Joe was on the play station round my Grandparents and it both looked and sounded quite visual to a Visualluy Impaired onlooker like myself, so decisions decisions, lollol.
As far as that goes, it'd be pretty difficult to judge based on console alone. The Wii, as I'm sure you probably know has its whole motion sensor thing going on with the remote and that, but the others are more traditional controllers. It really depends on what types of games you like to play and are most accessible to you. For example, I am totally blind, and I've played a lot of fighting games, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter and the like, so I had a PlayStation 2, which features most of those.
Some of my friends had nintendo and i remember that i liked listening to them playing duck hunt and contra.
Do you know if there is a place i could get the music of the contra game? I really liked the music especially the second level. Even if it wasn't just the music but game play video i wouldn't mind as long as the music can be heard.
This may be a bit more than you want to go through for just that, but you can go to http://www.zophar.net/utilities/nsf.html to get a Winamp plug in that plays NSF (Nes sound format) files. I recommend festalon personally.
Then, you can go to http://www.zophar.net/nsf/ for an archive of those.
Thanks a lot. I will try this. Very interesting.
I wouldn't mind getting some of the Play Station 2 or Dreamcast music if that's available. I can play some VHS games, mostly Harry Potter ones on my DVD player which sort of doubles as a play station when you put a VHS in there, and I just count button presses from top to bottom, left to right Etc Etc. I love games like Who wants to be a Millionaire? fighting games, almost any games really. I'm fairly easy. It just depends which games I find to be more accessible. We got my Grandad a playstation 2 a couple of years back when he had an op on his left hip and ankle and couldn't mobilise for quite a few weeks, so we thought it would keep him amused. I believe it's now just sat up in their loft gathering dust and also going spare, so I might well half-inch it.
I just downloaded the pluggin and the music file and it works fine in winamp. It is good to hear the contra music again after so many years. The only thing is that it seams to be a bit faster than it was in te game if i remember right. Is there a way to change the speed?
Not that I am aware of. If you like, you can add me to MSN messenger and we'll see if we can sort it out. There could probably be several reasons why that happens, though most all of mine play at the correct speed.
As for more modern soundtracks, http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks.php has a pretty large selection of those.
I had some 2 player deathmatches in sf2 on the snes...me vs. Keaton and keaton would always win accept one match where fireballs were enough to kill him. Dalsom keaton said is hard to beat but I've got a psp with Capcom Classic colection and playing as blanka I could beat up that dam indian guy with eas.
on my laptopt here i have over 9900 regular nentendo games and 2 emulators. i have everything punch out to mario to duck hunt to excite bike. see me if you want them. but i would recomend that ou go to www. romworld.com and download the nesteen emulator
